Random Thoughts

  • There is only self and other. And there is no other. (And the Buddha would say, there is no self.)
  • Sometimes being uncomfortable is the only way to know you're "doing the work".
  • An apology may not always be accepted, but it's never wasted.
  • Integrity = Actions Aligned with Beliefs...even when it's really, really hard.
  • Maybe life is like a Night at the Improv, except when people do or say crazy, unexpected and hurtful things, instead of a clever, humorous riposte, the goal is to respond with kindness, compassion and forgiveness...and maybe humor. And the winners are those who can do it without missing a beat.
  • Separating oneself from God (or "The Universe" or "All That Is" or the "Higher Self") is the only mortal sin. It is also the only punishment.
  • To practice patience, sit outside about an hour before dawn and wait, just wait, for the sun to come up. Without distractions, there are instants when you may doubt whether the sun will rise - really. Something to consider during the dark times.
  • If you’re doing something you don’t have to do and you’re not doing it because you believe it’s good for you – you must be doing it because it’s fun.
  • The world shifted into perfection, and yet nothing had changed.
  • The guy who invented the iron also invented the wrinkle.
  • If you don't know what to do, do the dishes.
  • Flying into the future on the wings of this moment, it becomes increasingly difficult to remain tethered to the past.

  • Why is it people drop the happy "y" sound at the end of their names when they want to sound more grown up?

  • If there is nothing else you'd rather do, you're doing the right thing.

  • Choose to live free, and watch the world change around the power of your choice.
  • I can handle anything, maybe just not as gracefully as I’d like.
  • Be prepared. The time may come when you will be asked to sacrifice peace for joy.
  • You don’t “go” through the challenges of life. You’re dragged through them. And who you are just naturally comes out.
  • Life is some uncomfortable stuff, learning some stuff, and some stuff that feels good.
  • I'll give you tea, but you'll get no sympathy from me.
