Employee Relations
This covers a wide variety of issues, including difficult employees, poor supervision, and workplace conflict. I can help identify the underlying issues and offer objective assessments and practical solutions for handling the problem.
Supervisory Coaching
Often the cause of workplace issues is a supervisor who may be good at the technical aspects of the job, but is a poor manager or communicator. These are the individuals who come back from supervisory training saying they didn’t learn anything new and that it was a waste of time and money. I offer one-on-one coaching and consultation with supervisors and managers to identify the specific areas of concern and provide concrete strategies for improvement.
Mediation
The very best way to resolve a conflict is for the individuals involved to sit down together, discuss their issues and concerns, and arrive at a mutually agreeable solution. The problem is, most people in a conflict find that very difficult, if not impossible, to do without a neutral third party to facilitate the conversation. Sometimes a manager can play that role, but often the manager is not seen as neutral by one or both of the individuals and can unintentionally slip into a decision-making role, which defeats the purpose. I and all of my associates are well-trained, qualified mediators with many years’ experience facilitating resolution in a wide variety of cases, including supervisor/employee, co-workers, consumer complaints, etc.
Meeting & Group Facilitation
One of the biggest complaints in many organizations has to do with ineffective meetings which are seen as inefficient and a waste of time. Planning and running effective meetings is a skill which not all meeting organizers possess. I can help managers and meeting organizers plan productive meetings and can facilitate meetings in a way that allows everyone to participate, to be heard, to know what will happen next, and to get out on time!
Training
I can develop and provide customized training programs for small or large groups on a variety of topics, including Conflict Resolution, Customer Service, Teamwork, Goal Setting, Performance Management, Employee Motivation, and other skills as needed. Just ask me!
Organizational Communication
Clear, concise communication is essential for any successful business. I can help you share information with employees, clients, stakeholders and others about new policies, procedural changes, benefits, events, products/services, and more. I can assist you in developing effective communication plans, as well as offer composition and editing services for announcements, web pages, employee handbooks and publications, emails, etc.
Organizational Development Consulting
Sometimes it helps to get an outsider’s view of your organization – how it functions, what messages you are communicating via your website, what your employees are really thinking. I can help provide that objective information and can help you develop plans and strategies to maximize your organization’s strengths and make necessary improvements.
Values Identification
The most successful organizations not only have a clear Mission and strategic Vision, they also have identified a set of Values to which they are committed. The Mission of any organization is a statement of why the organization exists, what it does, and who it serves. The Vision is a statement of where the organization is heading. The Values are the principles on which the organization is based, and determine how people work with each other, with clients, and with the community. I take organizations through a process to identify the values which can then serve as a basis for strategic planning, performance evaluation, employee recognition, etc.
