I’ve been waiting for this for years! December 21, 2012 is almost here and there’s lots of talk – mostly in jest – about the end of the world as “predicted” by the Mayan calendar. In fact, I’m pretty sure they Mayans didn’t think the world would end on that date. But they did seem to think that it would mark the end of one age and the beginning of another. (I guess they just didn’t feel like going to all the trouble of carving out a calendar for that one.) The new age, according to the Mayans and many others who study cosmology, astrology and mythology, is expected to be one of enlightenment and increased harmony.
Put me down as someone who believes that the new age is upon us and that 12/21/12 will mark the beginning. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that I expect that on December 22nd, all of my/our problems will go away and it’ll be smooth sailing for the next 2000 years. But I do expect things to start becoming clearer and a bit easier. Compare it to what happens each year at the winter solstice. From the exact moment of the solstice, the amount of light increases (at least in this hemisphere). That’s not to say that the next day we’re all going around saying, “Wow! It’s so bright! Where are my sunglasses???” But there is a definite, measurable shift, which is actually quite discernible at some latitudes.
So I’m looking forward to this particular solstice with a real sense of anticipation and hope for the future of the world. And since I also believe that the more people who hold a particular thought in mind, the more power it has, I invite you to join me in envisioning a shift toward the light beginning on Friday. It really is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, so let the sun shine in!
I could just feel your enthusiasm coming through cyberspace! It is indeed a new age.
Blessings
There’s a song in there, I just know it. And I remember it as part of “I Wanna Be Cosmic”. You’re so insightful.
Sending you the happiest of Christmas Greetings.
