Something really big happened yesterday, and it took a whole day for it to even register. Someone told me she’d been reading my blog. This is not someone I really know. I’d only met her once in passing through a mutual friend, who apparently told her about it. But not only did she say she’d been reading it – and she must have, because she actually made reference to a specific essay – she also said that what I’ve written has been very helpful to her. She said she wished she’d started reading it months ago when she was struggling with a big life decision.
Did I mention I don’t really know this woman? She’s not a relative or close friend. And she read my blog. No, she said she has been reading my blog. And it helped her. Wow! What great feedback and validation!
But here’s my question: Why did it take so long to sink in?
